The present invention relates to a fuel injection control method for an internal combustion engine (hereinafter referred to as "IC engine"). More specifically, the present invention is concerned with a fuel injection control method which is implemented so as to provide a plurality of improvements so as to decrease the supply of the fuel to the IC engine in accordance with the number of rotations of a crankshaft of the IC engine.
2. Description of the Related Art
A conventional fuel injection control method disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication (Kokai) No. 60-257, 595, as shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, is directed to reducing the amount of the fuel supplied to the IC engine (e.g., the amount of the fuel to be supplied to the engine cylinders) as a result of shifting the timing of the fuel injection so as to be retarded by a predetermined value (e.g., T.sub.2 -T.sub.1) in response to a reduction in the number of revolutions of the IC engine. As shown in FIG. 9, the conventional fuel injection control method reduces the supply of the fuel at any time when the number of revolutions of the engine is reduced, resulting in overheating of the engine.
Therefore, in case the conventional fuel injection control method is applied to an engine having more than ten cylinders, there is a possibility that the ignition timing and the fuel injection timing of each of the engine cylinders will be shifted from each other in view of the fact that the engine rotation speed and the engine power will be varied due to the variation in the number of revolutions of the engine.Q:
